Jim Hughes
Jim Hughes is the President of Productive Aging Resources, which has two emphasizes: training people in church ministry with middle and older adults and equipping caregivers in how to more easily help care for their aging and frail loved ones. Jim has authored two books—How to Build a Positive Senior Adult Ministry and Helping Your Aging Loved Ones: The Caregiving Process.
The senior adult ministry he developed at the Skillman Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas, was cited in 2006 as exemplary in two national magazines, Church Executive and Journal of Religion, Spirituality, and Aging, and in the book, The Graying of the Flock.
Jim has four earned degrees:
- B.A., M.A. in Biblical Studies, Abilene Christian University, Abilene, TX
- M.S. in Gerontology, Abilene Christian University, Abilene, TX
- Ph.D. in Educational Gerontology, the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE
Jim and his wife, Kathy, have five children and six grandchildren.
