'Letters to God' Gets a Date, Distributor
Directed by Fireproof's David Nixon, film to hit about 800 theaters in March
The film, based on the true story of a 9-year-old boy with cancer who writes his prayer letters to God, was recently picked up by Vivendi Entertainment for U.S. distribution. The movie will open in about 800 theaters on March 12.
Vivendi's Mark Kristol told Variety that Letters can tap into the same market as Fireproof, the Sherwood Productions feature that grossed $33 million for Samuel Goldwyn last fall, after being made for a mere $500,000.

I am the step great grandpa of the little boy on whom this film is based. I was with him as he approached the end which was really for him a beautiful beginning. I thank God for the way this young man touched my life and the lives of my family. I pray that God will use this film to bless the multiplied thousands who see it in the theatres. Just remember as you watch that this little boy was real. So courageous! I was there. PapaDaddyRandy

I had the pleasure of being at the World Premier of this film in Orlando, Florida last week and I must say it was fantastic and moving. It moves you to take comfort in God's plan for ourselves and those we love. Very well done and full of humor, truth, and heart warming moments. A must see for sure. Comes to theaters nationwide April 9th!!!
