Frontman for The Killers Promotes Mormons

Brandon Flowers says he "still has a fire burning" for his LDS background and faith

With Mitt Romney and discussion of Mormons in the headlines, the LDS church has recruited an interesting choice for an ad campaign to "educate the public" about its beliefs: Brandon Flowers, lead singer of the rock band The Killers.

In a 4-minute video, Flowers discusses his faith and his family; it even includes pictures of the singer playing with his infant son. It's part of a larger publicity campaign to make Mormonism look "hip" to a younger generation. Flowers looks into the camera and says, "I'm a father, I'm a husband, and I'm a Mormon."

Check out the video:

Brandon Flowers seems like a nice young man, but I wonder why he says he's a Mormon instead of saying he's a Christian. I think what's important is whether he has been saved by accepting Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, and by believing that faith in Christ is the only way to heaven.

He does not say he is a Christian because Mormons are not Christians. They believe in things heretical and blasphemous about God. No matter what you are told, understand they have a faith contrary to the bible. For instance in the teachings of the Morman prophets Brigham Young states that God the father was a human being on another planet and He became God. Because of this theology they believe we will all become Gods. This is the lie of Satan. Do not be deceived. Even though these people may be quite moral and nice their doctrine is demonic and we need to pray that they repent and be born again.

Itis the statement from the Mormon church itself that are not part of any established 20th century fundamentalist Christian Religion. O contrar in fact, "Do not not join any of them"...instead you must join the LDS Church and follow the precepts and direction of Joesph Smith Junior in order to experience true salvation. "There is no name given under heaven whereby you must be saved", Please circle one and only one....(A) Joesph Smith (B) Jesus Christ

They say nothing of the teachings of the church, what they believe etc. The word "church" is bandied about as if it is a Christian church, and then the shoe drops at the end: "I'm a Mormon". Doesn't that seem deceptive?
I simply love the Killers, and I love Brandon's heart and life as depicted in this video, and he is obviously blessed with a wonderful family. However, it seems the LDS continues to brand themselves as a Christian church, minus all that pesky "Mormon stuff".
