From the White House:
Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of Ruth Bell Graham, a remarkable woman of faith whose life was defined by her belief in a personal, loving, and gracious God. She was an encouraging friend, accomplished poet, and devoted mother of five and grandmother of 19.
Ruth's marriage to her husband Billy was a true and loving partnership. As the wife of the world's most beloved evangelist, she inspired people around the world with her humor, intelligence, elegance, and kindness. Laura and I offer our prayers and condolences to Billy and the Graham family.

The last time I saw Billy Graham was during the opening of the Billy Graham library in which he paid glowing tributes to his wife for not being able to attend the official opening, due to ill health.
I am glad that she has gone to be with the Lord, which is a strong coincidence, because she was born in June and went home in June.
God bless you Sister Ruth, and we hope to see on the other side very soon.

i have alot of respect and admiration for Billy Graham. Since i was a little boy and that is over 34 years. I never saw him in person and he never visited Dominica(the commonwealth of Dominica) an English island in the caribbean located between the french island of Guadeloupe and Martinique. But I adopt him as my father in christ, I love& respect him and his family dearly for the work he has done in enriching God's vineyard. and i continue to watch over and over his classics on tbn as i renew my trust in Jesus each night.

i was blessed to see billy graham twice in southern california area, once in the early 1960's when he was at the coliesum in los angeles and he came and spoke at the church of the open door which was on 5th and hope in los angeles. that church is now gone. the pastor at the time was dr. j vernon mcgee - the one that is still on the radio - he wemt home years ago. then billy graham spoke in anaheim in the 1980's and i got to see him again. then he came out here to los angeles a few years ago and spoke at the rose bowl and my daughter took her kids to see him with her kids. i think he spoke one more time that year in new york and then he did not speak in public anymore so he blessed our family and glad my grandkids got to see him.
