The Bible, Illuminated by Fashion Photography
The project leader of a magazine-format Bible hopes images will provoke people to read Scripture.
Apocalypse Now: Images of war, death, and ecological disaster portray the Book of Revelation in a 2007 Swedish edition of the New Testament. Called Bible Illuminated: The Book, the version's magazine format features arresting news and fashion photography, some sexually charged. Project leader Dan S?derberg, who has a background in advertising, said the intent of the photography is simply to draw readers into the text. "The Bible in its current state tends to alienate so many people," he said. "You can't dismiss the Bible unless you know it, and the more you know, the more you can take part in things. After all, the Bible is used in many aspects of life - even as an excuse for starting wars. You have to inform yourself."

Where is any reason given in the bible to start war?
The bible contains no grounds to start wars. It teaches peace and humanity - not the cold blooded murder of mankind.
The bible doesnt condone miltary action nor any such wilful killing of another human being.
The Bible has already been written so why even try re-write it!
How many Illuminati Freemasons have been complicit in this particular "illuminating" project?

This is a sick way to produce Gods word. This is a ploy to target people to believe a feel good christianity. It is weak and will suffer at the judgement of God. You cannot mix water and oil, God and the world are as far as the east is from the west. REPENT OF YOUR EVIL. OH sad sad day!

I just saw this on the Colbert Report and it looks quite interesting. Since only copies of the original Greek writings of the New Testament remain, and they all have discrepancies and variations, a great portion of the NT history results from editing, modification, translation, and interpretation. The stated goal of the new book is to generate conversation. Did you know that most of the books of the NT were not written by the stated author (pseudononymously), or that stories like the attempted stoning of Mary the prositute were added later by scribes trying to 'spruce' up the document? I hope the book does well.

This books uses scripture to make people follow a United Nations way of life not Jesus. Think about it. When Colbert asked Dag if he was a christian, he paused and didn't answer. Remember what the end of revelations says. Don't take away from or add to the bible. People will be deceived.

Why is the Senior Managing Editor of Christianity Today, Mark Galli, listed on the web-page of Illuminated World.com as an official 'supporter' of the Bible Illuminated? And, why is such an attempt to modernize The Bible necessary? It has remained a best-seller in its true form.
As 'Jack' stated on June 5, read the final verses of Revelations before you decide to rush out and support this new book. Christians must be alert and use discernment. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, not the United Nations.

Like the Bible states...FEW will enter Heaven. And this is one of the reasons why.
