Tim Keller Remembers David Wilkerson
Tim Keller, pastor of Manhattan's Redeemer Presbyterian Church, responded to CT concerning the sudden death of Times Square Church pastor David Wilkerson:
“I am deeply saddened to hear this news. David Wilkerson has made an enduring contribution to the ministry of the gospel in New York City. His courageous commitment to follow God’s call can be an example to us all.”

DAVID WILKERSON MARKS RICK WARREN AS A FALSE TEACHER
The following letter was published by Southwest Radio Church in Dr. Noah Hutchings book:
Dear Dr. Hutchings:
Your article concerning Rick Warren's ministry is one of the most balanced exposes of what I see as a very dangerous movement. I find no animosity in what you have said and I believe it is a message that every pastor around the world needs to hear.
As I've traveled the world the last two years in minister's conference, I've seen the havoc which that ministry has caused. In South Africa, one pastor spent six weeks preaching from Rick Warren's book. Most of the well-grounded pillars left the church and it is floundering. We find the same everywhere we go. It simply does not work.
I've order one hundred copies of "Piggyback/Saddleback" and plan to send them to my bishop friends in all the nations we've been to.
God bless you for taking the stand that is not popular and one that I believe truly pleases the Lord.
May the Spirit of the Lord give you strength and courage.
Well said, my brother.
His bondservant,
David Wilkerson

David Wilkerson truly believed in separation from the world. To be in it but not of it. God bless David Wilkerson and as a Catholic, I can say, shine His face of Beauty upon him in his rest.

I was deeply saddened by David Wilkerson's passing. In my view, he was one of the few fearless 'modern day prophets' in this age of skepticism and unbelief. With Billy Graham sidelined with age and health related issues, and David Wilkerson now with the Lord, it seems there are fewer and fewer pastors and evangelists remaining that will have the courage to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise. I was blessed to be the recipient of Rev. Wilkerson's weekly sermons. His knowledge of scripture and faithfulness to the Word was a great encouragement - a balm to soul and spirit.
He will be deeply missed.

David Wilkerson was one of a kind and had an unflicnhing commitment to the Word of God and pentecostal orthodoxy. He is an example to this next generation of young pastors and preachers to how being uncompromising on the essentials can still yield healthy ministry and success. Too many young pastors are compromising for the sake of false success. It is time for a new generation of young preachers to become anointed prophets of God in the truly biblical sense. We need to be light in darkness not get absorbed into the darkness.
