More Dangerous Than Porn: Religious Websites

Report says religious websites are three times more likely to infect computers with viruses than porn websites.

A recent report from an anti-virus software vendor Internet Security Threat Report said religious or ideologically themed sites were three times more likely to infect a computer with a virus than sites with adult content.

“We hypothesize that this is because pornographic website owners already make money from the internet and, as a result, have a vested interest in keeping their sites malware-free—it’s not good for repeat business,” Symantec stated in its report.

Viruses are downloaded in “drive-by attacks” when users visit a site that has been infected with malware. Symantec reported that it blocked more than 5.5 billion malware attacks last year, up 81 percent from 2010, adding that users are more likely to be infected by malware placed on legitimate sites than by sites created by hackers.

Anyone ever hear about the wheat and the tares? Who would "benefit" from infecting religious sites?

This has nothing to do with some evil plot and everything to do with the fact that porn sites are businesses but many of the Christian sites are run by people that know nothing about actually running websites.

I have helped a number of Christian sites. The common thread is that they are run by people that feel called, but don't actually have any technical skill.

Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares shows that the Christian wheat have deadly enemies sown by Satan in their midst, contrary to the popular churchistic teachings on universalism that we are 'all God's children'. These tares control the mainstream media, Wall Street, Hollywood, pornography, militant feminism, the promotion of abortion and the 'gay' agenda and the fight against Christian values such as prayer in schools. Jesus said 'You shall know them by their fruits'. They are also the likely culprits behind viruses and attacks on Christian websites and any sources of truth in this terrible world of war-making and lies.

What evidence do we have that big media (or small media for that matter) are behind viruses and malware? If you want to look at some security reports, the issue is that primarily foreign criminal organizations are behind the largest virus and malware. Some is made by individuals, but most are the digital equivalent of organized crime (actually it is often run by real physical organized crime).

The reason that most sites have infection is that their software is not up to date and/or they have bad security settings.

This is not an attack on Christianity.

Probably some degree of both.

the difference of course being that in one case, you deal with some temporary annoyance that has no real bearing on your quality of life vs the other which can lead to (or feed) sexual addictions and lead to ruin if family and possibly result in an eternity in hell
