Media vs. Sarah Palin

Speakers at the Values Voter Summit this morning spoke of their disdain for the media and love of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Former speaker of the House Newt Gingrich called ABC's interview with Palin "stunningly distorted."

"They find Gov. Palin quite horrifying because she actually believes in God, she actually believes in family, she actually has five children and she actually is a conservative," Gingrich said. "It's as though John McCain had gone to Mars and brought back an alien."

The crowd cheered Lt. Governor of Maryland Michael Steele earlier when he said, "I know Sarah Palin and you don't want to mess with Sarah Palin. She shoots moose, what do you think she is going to do to a donkey?"

CNN's Lou Dobbs gave the opening speech saying that Family Research Council President Tony Perkins "brought me over to his way of thinking. It may cost me my membership card in the liberal media but that is how it is."

Newt Gingrich. There's a guy with credibility to be talking about family values. Although, I guess he and John McCain do share similar biographies as it relates to running out on their first wives.

Wait, Sarah Palin has five children? I thought her family was off limits? I mean, she apparently didn't even talk to them before she said yes to McCain.

Republicans, especially ones named Sarah Palin, should be thanking the media, not disdaining them, for their ridiculous coverage of lipstickgate.

Even if Obama wasn't specifically talking about Bush's policies over the last eight years and did call Palin a pig, her support of pork-barrel spending (despite her repeated lies about it) and the campaign lies and scum she has been riding to political stardom of late make the metaphor all too appropriate.

Matt--You don't seem the least bit bitter or have any sort of axe to grind do you?.Take a few prozac and lie down awhile--this too will pass.

Slider, I believe it will be you who will need 8 years of prozac because the McCain/Palin ticket is going to lose. They have descended into a pit of campaign slime. I used to have great respect for Sen. McCain, but no longer. Gov. Palin I applaud for her willingness to take on a fierce career, but she, too, appears all too willing to say anything. How can she possibly be qualifed to be VP when she was so disinterested in foreign policy over the last 8 years that she had no clue what the Bush Doctrine was? Even when Charlie explained it to her, the policy issues still didn't appear to ring a bell with her.

And, Matt was completely correct -- except it was Newt's SECOND wife that Newt left, while she had cancer, for the young staffer with whom he had been carrying on an affair.

The hypocrisy of the McCain/Palin ticket, and those on the right wing that condone anything when it's one of their own, is just stunning.

A.Lawyer-You've been watching too much MSNBC...And all this from a guy who is backing a presidential candidate with two books, no legislation,no experience other than community organization. A guy who hangs with racists and liars(Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farakhan a self admitted terrorist(William Ayers)and models hisself after an adulterer(Bill Clinton)From what I remember the lib candidates started the sniping at the DNC and now it's a litle hard for you to see your guy gettin' beat down by a woman.Go figure, your VP candidate thinks he's the wrong guy for the job--What's his name? Oh yea, Joe Biden even he thinks Barak Hussein Obama should have picked Hillary...At least Palen has confidence in her abilities. The only thing you seem to have going for you is the biased media and they keep steppin' in it too. If Obama does win he you'll be able to thank them.

Slimer -- You have to resort to "your guy[']s gettin' beat down by a woman"? What a sophisticated analysis. Amd, "hisself"? Obviously you're highly intelligent, too. Speaking of an adulterer, uh, Slimer, that's your candidate, John McCain. You've willfully lied about Obama's record -- he's had several years in the Illinois Legislature and 2 years in the United States Senate. Palin was mayor of a town so small that fewer people live in it than work in my office building! She's had no exposure to national issues. Her experience as governer is so meager that she spent 312 of 365 nights in her own home instead of in the state capital several hundred miles away. And, she's under investigation for ethical improprieties. Good grief, if this wasn't really happening, it would actually be hysterical. Your ticket has sold its soul in the quest for power.

A. Lawyer--you're obviously one of the sexist crowd who can't seem to stomach a strong woman. Really the Democrats should have been the ones to pick a woman candidate for that high of office, but I guess your "progressive" party isn't quite as "progressive" as you thought huh? Poor liberals, ever the victim. Instead they had to resort to sexism and character assassination before she barely spoke a word Obama has had exposure to national issues and he still can't handle speaking about anything without a teleprompter. I loved the line about how all he could handle was to count himself as present instead of voting yes or no-that's the kind of decisive guy we need for a President--lol. And as for the name calling, it's what we've come to expect from you guys(and that's the best you could do? Very weak)...you do that very well. Not to mention the liberal hoodlum terrorist's that protested by trying to terrorize the Twin Cities during the RNC...more typical liberal depraved behavior.

P.S. I didn't realize Obama had a record, a reputation maybe but not a record.

Slimer -- Again, it's your candidate John McCain, who's sold his soul, who's the one who can't speak without the teleprompter. Sarah Palin had said plenty before she hit the national stage. Just because you choose to ignore her history doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And, as for the "sexist" remark, the Republicans crying sexism after their savaging of Hilary Clinton -- you've obviously come unhinged. Also, the snipe about Obama's "record," -- nice racist dig. You should be ashamed of yourself.

A.Lawyer--The Obama star has fallen from the sky and I know that has to be hard to take. Obama was the celebrity Messiah for four years and suddenly he has lost his status and lustre when the GOP trumped his hand with Sarah Palin. Obama's foray into the basement was pretty much over night and really is due to the fact that the GOP is beating the Dems at their own game(that would piss me off too) or can't you figure that one out. If you're gonna out shine a star you need a bigger star(only the woman star has more leadership qualities). It's the ignorance of the American people that buys into a candidate that belongs on Entertainment tonight or Oprah more than he does on the world stage.

Do you think that she will bring speaking in tongues into the classroom?

SEXISM??????????????? I'd say it's pretty sexist that McCain thought that he could pander to the female vote by nominating a woman to run with him. Apparently he thinks that we are all morons.

It is the ignorance of the republican scourge that brought us 8 years of bush/cheney and a totally unjustified war. Get a clue, slider.

Why is it that the republicans who call themselves Christians act anything but Christlike? Instead, they outright lie in their ads and on the campaign trail showing all too clearly how ambitious and ruthless they are.

I pray God protets and strenghnes Obama and Biden as they fight the likes of Palin and McCain who God is not pleased with because God does not like LIARS and HYPOCRITES!

Sara Palin(two comments up)You said-"Apparently he thinks that we are all morons". Well maybe you are.According to the polls it was a brilliant move by McCain so far--or hav'nt you been paying attention? Apparently not. Women have been drawn into the McCain/Palin camp since the harsh treatment by your ilk and your liberal media allies. I love the fact that Obama and his easily led sheep are spending all sorts of time talking about McCain/Palin and Bush when they used to spend so much time talking about hope, change, and "yes we can".Caustic people like you seem to be helping the McCain/Palin cause more than anyone--Thank you and keep up the good work.

Lucy--you are a big reason people laugh at, mock and scorn evangelicals. You are anything but a good example of what one should be. Lol--who died and left you queen? I'm suprised you didn't ask for fire and brimstone to rain down--You can go back to the middle ages any time.

I like her youthful life in the small churches which are more friendly and faith oriented. I hope she could reshape diseased churches and their leaders. If we can reshape our church life along Jesus line, we easily eliminate thoese wall street money mongers and power brokers. Their art of decepion ruined our economic life, eventually our children's. Don't we need a pure minded who would bravely fight for justice for all? I pray God that we could have
God-fearing good leaders this election. Prayerfully.

Sara, you dear misguided, uneducated jibberish talking NUT! What is it you are talking about each time your mouth opens? You have so many people fooled. Especially parents of children with "special needs." I have two. I've worked a full time job raised 7 children, taken care of my husband and family and have never, ever exploited my disabled children in any way. What makes you so special? Nothing, absolutely nothing. You have your sweet little boy on stage, hugging and kissing. Your daughter usually caring for him. Perhaps you should have thought about having a baby and what the risks could be for a woman in her forties. But then I'm sure you also thought of your political ambitions and what being a mother to a down syndrome baby could do for you. Sympathy, admiration, etc., etc. You really know how to get the attention don't you? You are a quitter. You can't even be a leader to a state such as Alaska. I mean doesn't Alaska have only a small population? Isn't most of the state under snow? I have never been so thoroughly sick of anyone as much as I was you during the presidential race. Silly McCain really thought you were going to make the difference. What a joke (on the two of you.) You made some very insulting, humiliating statements about President Obama. But, who had the last laugh? He IS the President! Yours and mine. Remember "Failin' Palin" "what goes around, comes around." Please, please, please do the American citizens a favor, don't even try running for President. History will repeat itself in the next four years and we will be hailing our Chief, President Barack Obama!!!
