Tom Delay on Palin's Inspiring Christian "Worldview"

In a brief interview I had today, the former House Majority Leader said he was deeply unenthusiastic about McCain but now shares the prevailing ecstasy about Sarah Palin.

"It's obvious that's a woman with a world view. I could see it in the way she looked at her family. I could see in the discussion around her child. It's obvious her faith is her foundation. A Christian has a world view that allows you see a situation...they've made the bad choice. So do you see it as a punishment as Obama does or as a blessing as Christians see it?"

We all have a "world view". I hope she has a Biblical worldview.

She is a nominal Christian! She does not have a bibilical view - what she said in her church about "God's Task in Iraq" was politically driven. Do any of us Christians care about the current persecution of Christians in Iraq? It has risen ever since the US took over. None of our so called Christian politicians even care to find out about whats going on with christians in the countries that the USA supports. By the way, I live in the third world and I am shocked that my fellow believers in the US do not care about these issues. Persecution of Christians is overlooked by your so called Christian politicians. Rise up and support your fellow believers. Can you not see what we face?

Samuel,

Do you know of the future of Iraq? Did you ever stop to think that God's providence had us go over there to 'free' Iraq for a future purpose? Or is God not omnipotent/omnipresent? God has a purpose in the good and bad!

And who is doing the persecution? May I set forth a premise....Islam (a false religion)? Is it wrong to be presecuted for your beliefs? I submit...it is not - Jesus said it would happen and it is stated in scripture!

You are a in a third world country...correct? Maybe you should concetrate on the issues in your own country and make it a better & more christian place!

Rise up sounds more like a rallying point for propaganda machine.

Who are we to say it is God's right? Are we the like the fools of the CRusades duped by the Pope into thinking this is God's will? or the Spanish Inquisition. That was God's will as they said? Baloney. When you say it is God's will you are putting yourself in religious fanaticism. With the Muslims saying Sharia law is God's will. The destruction of the US is Gods will. Try explainig that to a Shiite mother who buried all her children and husband, or to a Sunni child who lost both hi sparents in a bombing. God's will. YOU FOOLS! And John makes a great point, we haven;t been doing much in the past years with all these Christians beig murdered. Well my friend did missionary work overseas and just did not have the courage to go to Turkey. There, its "Gods will" for everyone to be Muslim and they'll kill you if you go spreading the Gospel. Get off your divine horse and start thinking for yourselves, stop being like sheep and following the masses.

And Palin has a worldview alright. She knows very little of what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. What do you expect from a gun loving hunter that kills animals for fun skipping through the Alaska woods.
Think back to a few years ago when the war was under way and the politicians in the White House had no idea of the differences between Shiites, Sunnis & Kurds. This administration will brush diplomacy aside, break out the big guns, and barter for some prime real estate so we can dump our American goods there. Why do you think we look teh other way to China's human rights violation. Hint, looks green and rhymes with honey.

Why would the words of an indicted former congressman mean anything? Samuel is right. Palin is not a Christian. She has no biblical worldview and is an awful mother.

Rich of NYC

I like the cut and paste. By saying "God's will" puts me into religious fanaticism, hmm, wow! That is a deep/sound theological discussion/debate. Definite profound thinking! The masses seem to follow the wrong path..look at the postings! YOU FOOL! The media seems to go along with Obama....so should I go to? Master Yoda!

Tom Delay is talking about morals? Faith? God? Doesn't anyone look behind or underneath the facade at the real character of corruption here? I hope it is simple lack of knowledge. Or have we in effect gone back to the era of indulgences; that is, if a politician evokes the "plenary indulgence" of being "pro life" any sin, unrepented or otherwise, is ignored.

Folks, this in not brain surgery.
A candidate who says a particular policy (in this case, invading a country for no good reason) is God's will is not a politician but a demagogue. You can't reason with a demagogue, nor can you compromise with one. If the policy turns out to be wrong, you can't change it because then it wouldn't be "God's will". Haven't we had enough of this kind of leadership?
What will it take for this country to wise up?

Its interesting how Eric you forget as to where fundamental islam was born - unfortuntately it was not Iraq! its Saudi Arabia which happens to be an ally of the US - Do you know what Wahabism? Did you know that all of the hijackers were of Saudi origin (except for one) but yet I didnt see Bush march into Saudi Arabia.

Persecution of Christians comes from US Allies unfortunately I dont understand why my fellow christians in the US dont see that!

Lastly, I am an American Citizen but in high-tech hence 6 months out of the year I live in South Asia.

"...Persecution of Christians is overlooked by your so called Christian politicians. Rise up and support your fellow believers. Can you not see what we face?"

We as Christians are never promised the easy life in scripture. In fact, Jesus Himself said "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

We as American Christians have been spoiled by the rights that we have. Yes, persecution is sad, but if they never have to stand up for Christ through persecution, how will God's name be glorified? How much of Paul's story in the New Testament would have been weakened if he had never had to spend time in prison? A Christian's faith is proven genuine when tested. We should pray for boldness through the test, not to be delivered from it.

As for Palin's stance on Iraq, I am deeply troubled by it. Many end-times preachers now want to say that Iraq is the center of the end times. Maybe that was the motivation for the invasion. That's interesting, but there's a problem...

...what if they're wrong? What if we look up to God and say "Okay God, we invaded Iraq for you and defeated that evil," and God says, "I never told you to do that.." ???

We don't follow kings anymore as the Jews did in the OT because now we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, which first came down at Pentecost. When one rises up and claims to have an exclusive hold on God's will for the nation, we can know that this will lead to serious trouble.

Has everyone in American lost their mind? There is supposed to be a separation of church and state as written in the constitution. Our forefathers decided this for a good reason. Are we going to go backwards and start fighting religious wars in the name of America? Palin clearing uses politics to get in religious work done. She is a very scary person and needs to be a religious leader not a politician. Billy Graham stayed out of politics but at one time had considered it but realized the separation of church and state.

Did you know that the phrase "seperation of church and state" is not mentioned in the constitution one time? read it yourself. The founding fathers' desire was that our faith would permeate our politics.

By the way, what evidence do you have that supports your billy graham idea?
