Climate change natural or 'End of Days'?

Sarah Pulliam Bailey

In case you haven't seen it yet, Tina Fey included a small religion reference in her most recent Saturday Night Live skit.

"Gwen, we don't know if this climate change hoozie-what's-it is man-made or if it's just a natural part of the 'End of Days.'"

Palin is only doing what is best, she thinks, for the campaign. I have more of a problem with John McCain. His family is involved in liquor distribution. Am I the only one who sees this? Cindy McCain's family business is like the 8th largest beer distributor in the US. We need to rethink where peoples values really are. I don't think McCain's values represent my values. Plus, he divorced his first wife. Does Sarah Palin actually speak in tongues or not? I would like to know.

I don't have a problem with alcohol Sue and I don't believe that should disqualify anyone from office (mind you I'm not an American either, so I don't have a horse in this race). Jesus turned water into the good stuff and until the 20th century wine and beer were safer alternatives to drink than water. Hence the term small beer. Besides, I like Benjamin Franklin's observation that: "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

That is some funny stuff.

The SNL skit was playing off the public perception that some Bible-believing Christians care nothing about Creation health since "it's all gonna burn up anyway."

Reminds me of those Christian t-shirts that say "Global Warming? You think it is hot now?" complete with scripture reference of 2 Peter 3:12.

That sort of insider hubris damages the public perception of the Church. In my thinking the SNL shot was justified.

"Does Sarah Palin actually speak in tongues or not? I would like to know." - Sue

I'm a Christian, I believe that tongues are for today, but what does that have to do with anything. And what does it have to do with fitness to lead the USA? God gives different gifts to every believer. 1 Cor. 12:30.

I don't care if Palin speaks in tongues. It's none of my business. I don't care if McCain's wife is in the beer business, as long as the business is run in a legal and ethical manner. Jesus drank wine and beer, and again, it's none of my business. I don't care that Obama smokes. Such questions should not be asked because they do not pertain to the election.

Sue--Do you think it is at all funny that the most obese believers on the planet don't drink? A little wine and a lot less dessert would be good for America.

Jon, You need to watch the Call to Renewal address in its entirety. Obama was pointing out that if you are indeed a biblical literalist then you can run into trouble pretty quickly. I think we're supposed to view those OT laws through the eyes of Jesus. Try this link instead of a cherry picked and obviously hostile (judging by the commentator) youtube production.

I'm more disturbed that Cindy's father worked for the mafia and the mafia financed her dad getting into the business.
