It's a Boy!

Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, gave birth to a boy on Saturday, People magazine reports.

Bristol, 18, gave birth to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston who weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, the magazine reports.

Baby Tripp takes his surname from his dad, Levi Johnston, an apprentice electrician and former Wasilla High School hockey player who has been dating Bristol for three years.

Bristol Palin is currently residing in Wasilla and completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses.

Johnston is studying to become an electrician. He told the Associated Press in October that he and fiancée Bristol plan to wed in 2009 and raise the child together.

Bristol's pregnancy became national news after liberal bloggers floated rumors that Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy. Several conservatives quickly came to Palin's defense for encouraging her daughter to carry the baby to term.

Those religious people who are so eager to deny marriage to loving gay couples are missing an opportunity to condemn lust, sex outside of marriage, and the failure of these parents to marry before their child was born.

Please remember, people who assert that being gay is a choice and that people who make that choice shouldn't have the legal right to marry, if someone can be banned from marrying because of a choice they made, then members of a religion could just as easily be banned from marrying, voting, owning property, and on and on and on.

Some reports say he was born Sunday, others Saturday -- in either case, on a day with few people in the hospital. No medical reports again, or any evidence -- how do we know it is even hers, and that she didn't just adopt it?

SO???? I am sure thousands of legitimate baby boys were born the same day. I do not condone fornication
and will pray for the souls of the parents of this child, he has a rough way to go in life.

So much for the religious right and their focus on the family and morals plus a touch of ethics thrown in.
It must be very convenient to be one of these xians. They can pick and chose what fits them and works for them but deny everyone else the same rights and do it wholesale.
These people are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites who have nothing more to do than get in everyone else's life. Just a bunch of busy bodies with no lives at all.

Tom, being gay is indeed a choice, and a wrong one. Two
males cannot mate, nor can two females. Nature alone
demonstrates that. This is a typical strategy of the
homosexual community, to point to failures in the
hetero community, as if to say, "We can do it better."
The truth is, you can't do it at all. & if two men
are allowed to marry, what's to stop a woman from
marrying her dog? Or a man his sister? Tear down the
one man/one woman definition, and the floodgates are
open. Besides, Scripture is plain that homosexuality is
sin.

I don't think I know anymore what "being religious " means anymore. Here's a couple of young, unmarrieds and just had a baby and the headline in a Christian magazine, are:IT'S A BOY. What I think has happened is that "Religious" means, we, the "religious", make up the rules. We do not pay any attention, anymore, to what God says or what He has alreay said. There's no such thing as , "living in sin", anymore. Anything and everything goes. Religious people have no right choosing what is sin and what is not.Come on "you Christians", get back to preaching what God says!! If you are going to make an unmarried couple having a baby your headline, then you should have a headline that says, " Bob and Joe were married today.......Quit being such hypocrites!!!

Please allow sex education in our schools so that our children will not become pregnant when they are just children.

Tom you put alot of thought into your comment but being gay is a sinful choice and sin is not a good thing so why should the chuch support sin?

American society is inundated with sexual messages I have heard of 13 year old girls performing oral sex at teen parties. It is difficult to prevent or slow down sexual activity of any kind in young teenagers. Parents can try as mightily as they can to give quality guidance to their teens, but if their kids are in public school, that may be extremely difficult, and their guidance may fall upon deaf ears. One way to combat the moral cesspool is to homeschool one's children. One must be alert to the cues a child may give out when they are ready to discuss sexuality.

What oversexualization of teens in this society has to do with gay rights is not clear to me. This society promotes sex of just about any kind one can imagine.

I hesitate to blame the Palins for their daughter's pregnancy because I don't know them personally nor do I know the teens who created this baby. What if Bristol Palin is a difficult and rebellious girl? What kind of person is Mr. Johnston? What are Bristol's friends like? These two teenage parents are now faced with some very adult challenges and will have to become adults very quickly. I do not envy them and I wish them well.
