By Any Means Necessary?

Civic debate seems to be turning ugly in America. After the pro-marriage Proposition 8 was passed in California, angry gay-rights activists vented their fury on Mormons and Christians, who publicly opposed marriage by homosexuals. Pro-life activists have long experienced social marginalization at the hands of pro-choice organizations and their sympathizers in the mainstream media, according to the final article by the late Richard John Neuhaus. And now Jews in the Chicago area are facing the wrath of vandals responding to Israel's Gaza invasion. "This touches a raw nerve," Rabbi Zvi Engel of Congregation Or Torah in Skokie said, responding to "Death to Israel!" slogans and other provocations on area synagogues. "You have to remember, in our congregations, there are people who remember this happening in Europe" at the start of the Holocaust. Even in America, where freedom of speech is enshrined as a core value, many seek to win debates in the public square by any means necessary.

Reading this article and the ongoing antisemitic jargon makes me sick. I am not a Jew, but I was in Germany during this terrible injustice perpetrated against a people of this world who have done nothing to deserve such inhuman treatment.I have seen first hand what was happening, and feel that this behavior in the post-war free society is shameful and disgusting. Anyone who is trying to cover themselves under the "FREE SPEECH" mantle need to examine their sanity. Freedom is for all people not only for those sick minds who want to steal freedom from others who don't agree with them.

It should not surprise us that those who believe the Bible are attacked by those who do not. As Galatians 4:29 tells us, "But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now." It is nothing new.

Before the Lord's return, these things have to happen for Satan to establish his kingdom. It is just another step closer. Matthew tells us See that ye be not troubled.

It is unfathomable how the Israelis, with a majority of Jewish support from the US and elsewhere, can subject the Palestinians to the terrible violent racism, dispossession and Nazi-like treatment that we have seen for so many years, including the theft of land for illegal settlements and the internationally illegal policy of collective punishment being meeted out on the poor, terribly suffering people (almost half being children) of Gaza.
The Lord is a God of Justice..
Come, Lord Jesus!

It is difficult to understand how any civilized person in the world thinks they can maintain the respect of other citizens anywhere in the world and conduct themselves like uncivilized barbarians. We seek to educate young people that you do not have to fully agree with another person's beliefs to be able to conduct yourself in a respectful or civilized way. There is a way to express an opinion that may disagree with others without inciting violence and hatred toward those people. No nation can remain an honorable democracy if citizens do not learn to give their opinions and be a part of the public debate without inciting hatred and violence against everyone that does not fully agree with their beliefs. Any nation that accepts the standard of obtaining or gaining power by whatever means necessary will not long endure, for it will lose the respect of honorable people in the International Community. I find it abhorrent that some political groups believe it is alright to force their beliefs on others by violence or any means necessary. In my opinion, whether it is the homosexual community or any other group or community, if you seek to intimidate through fear and violence and force your ideas on other people that group or person will ultimately lose the respect of other respectable people, and in the end they do far more damage to their own cause.
