Christian Conservative Groups Promote Tea Parties

At least 25,000 people turned out for tea party protests across the country today, according to the Atlantic, and groups like Focus on the Family Action, Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, and the American Family Association helped promote the demonstrations.

The tea parties were initially promoted by FreedomWorks, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group based in Washington, but Christian conservative groups quickly latched on.

CitizenLink: "The mainstream media largely have ignored the nationwide protests, even as Congress loads pork projects and stimulus bills on the backs of American taxpayers and their children."

Tony Perkins: "There is no justification for the countless billions that citizens will have to pony up this tax season to fund liberalism's reckless abuse of the federal treasury."

"The religious right's support for the Tea Parties is a partisan exercise, not a religious one. It will not help their cause," Dan at the left-leaning Faith in Public Life writes.

What do you think? Would you participate in the tea party ritual?

8 years of increasing deficits (including $700 Billion bailout of banks near the end) did not solicit this response from conservatives. Suddenly within 2 months of a new administration, conservatives have discovered their fiscal restraint. The hypocrisy is staggering.

Fortunately they are in the minority as most Americans support the President's budget priorities -- that's why they elected him.

In the original party as in so many parties. The participants disguised themselves as indians so these would take the blame. If I remember well the Brit's did not bite the bait.

Now these party goers are hiding again behind something.

Wonder of wonder what could that be, and what or who's behind the masks. Could it be self justification in absence of justification by Faith, Grace, the Name and the Blood. Or could it be self grandiose or grandiloquence. How about just plain and simple, the same old southern bigotry. Whatever it is they are hiding behind and who's hiding. May fool many in their own camp and themselves only.

Don't fool me. I have deal with this kind in and out of the church. I've seen their hatred for anyone who questions their belief and correctly disproves them with Scripture. Have seen time and again their double diping and double standards. Seen the way they get away with cheating the Government and everybody else, in and out of the Church. Seen over and over the dirt under their carpets and the whiskey hidden in the back corners of the kitchen pantry.

Hit the road back to Rome where they really belong, and leave the space in the pews free for somebody who wants to serve God.

It would simply be immoral to cooperate with the above named extremist groups.

"Conservatives," as extremists misleadingly call themselves these days, have shamelessly looted America, deferred necessary infrastructure work to some who knows when and what Katrina 2 disaster, and have pretty much broken the world.

And speaking of infrastructure...where is my promised, affordable, ultra broadband? Cable broadband isn't really quite adequate anymore, and not especially affordable to many people, or even available at a reasonable price to a rural friend.

How many thousands, if not hundred of thousands of people have had premature, even violent deaths from "conservative" leadership and actions? Why would anyone in their right mind even listen to them anymore?

Speaking of extremists looting America, tarnished former Congressman and always notorious bigot, Dick Armey, is the Co-Chairman of FreedomWorks. Freedom to him has always meant freedom for some, but not for others.

And, is FreedomWorks available to hire for advertising? It looks that way.

I'd be afraid to participate. I don't want to show up on someone's terrorist list.

Interesting personalities in your comment section.

I can understand Alison's post. I would be wary of a government that will have increased the deficit more in its first two months than all previous administrations. I would be concerned with a government that would issue a Department of Homeland Security memorandum that incites fear of others that are pro-life or an unease about people that have sacrificed to serve their country. I fear a governement that would consider the words "He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance" or "For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent" seditious. Those words are from the Declaration of Independence.

Using this administration's guidance I am to be feared. I fear God. I am pro-life. I am a veteran. I go to church. I own weapons. Yes, I would gladly go to a tea party gathering. I don't like the term "ritual" though. I would not go for a spiritual reason. I would go to protest a government that would grow big enough that it would gladly dominate liberty.

I'm also a veteran, though I've sold my rifle and shotgun, and someone stole my inherited old, but still very lethal, Colt. (Don't be foolish like I was, get a proper gun safe if you don't already have one.)

Having once lived in the Bible Belt and have seen a home grown terrorist at work (he was wearing a badge, too)...being concerned about home grown terrorists is unfortunately, a constant valid concern, even when hate groups are not expanding, as they are today.

While there are hate groups in pretty much every state, there is one known one even in my "majority is a minority state," the Bible Belt and Southern California are where they seem most concentrated on a map, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The Good News is that God loves us all, in spite of our sometimes strange beliefs and confusion.

The Religious Right is no more a threat to God than is the Religious Left. Unfortunately, some of them waste a lot of good time and energy on this earth threatening each other.

But the important question is: Do our tea-partying brothers and sisters think their demonstrations get them any closer to the Kingdom of God, or to God's Wonderful Grace?

Since the Obama tax reductions for 95% of us (I am in the below $250,000 group) have not yet taken effect, the protesters are protesting Bush Republican tax rates and policies. Why were these not a problem when he was in office? We are called to be sheep only in relation to the true Shepherd, and he is not on Fox News, nor with Dick Armey's "Freedomworks" lobbiest groups, which counts among its clients AIG. How gullible can people be to follow these false leaders?

I hope that the tea party participants had the integrity to decline any police protection, crowd control, and other services, didn't drive to the events using public roads, and didn't use any other facilities, structures, or services funded by the hated tax dollars.

Absolutely not! They are stupid and they are gay originating anyhow? Do you know what tea bagging is? This has been the laughing stock of the gay community! How about we Christian conservatives go out and spread the gospel to the high ways and by ways as Christ commanded us to?

I just came upon this site today. And I'm confused about one thing. When some of you say you are Christians do you mean that you've ask Jesus to forgive you your wrong doings and that He's now the Lord of your lives and you acknowledge him as such? Or do you simply mean you are a christian as in grew up in an idealogical christian community as opposed to a muslim or bhuddist one?

i am madhav . i want information about christian religion

So long as every day America doesn't show outrage and everything now allowed, morals removed and radical ideology taught in it's place in our schools without rebuttal, America as we knew it will disappear. Every step the White House plans in advance is pre-approved and planned to create distraction from morals being undermined. With the media in cahoots for national support it's core goal is to undermine moral ethics our fore fathers created : (The Constitution.) America will continue to not only move Left but Alinsky's playbook gets one step closer to victory. While everyone wants to give this administration a chance to be fair the first 100 days, the White House is taking full advantage of this time frame. Planned Full Speed ahead on it's own undermine the Constitution agenda plan. Her Honor Soto Mayor is another wrung in the plan to create non Constitutional Law into America's Structure.

President John Adams,
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

When our nation's Christian ways are being attacked, every Christian should Tea Party for God.

I want to get involved in the local teaparties. How to I do this? It is time to stop what Washington is doing to our Country. The mem Obama is choosing to be in top positions is against the very core and values of our county. Kevin Jennings as head of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools. What hypocrisy! Jennings is the founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network ( GLsen). He has written five books advocating Homosexual teaching in the schools and elsewhere. By his own admission , Kevin Jennings views do not represent the beliefs of millions of American parents who have entrusted their childrens education to our public school system. Please let us stand up and fight

Obama read porno Pushkin's Secret Journal

On CNN http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-404091 is announced that Barak Obama did read the erotic book by Russian famous author Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) who was black. See photos at http://russianliterature.blogspot.com

As a Christian who is an African American I am appalled that anyone who calls themselves a Christian would join the Tea Party movement. Race relations in this country have always been a problem and the Tea Party not only hampers reconcilation between races, but it promotes racial discrimination. Also it promotes a form of Christianity that is not biblical. When did Americanism become Christanity? I am afraid that Conservative Christanity in its fear to retain its power has allowed Satan in. I pray that you will seek God in truth. Remember Hitler came into power through the popular vote.
