How Should Christians Respond to Osama bin Laden's Death?

President Obama announced tonight that Osama bin Laden, leader of the group responsible for the September 11 attacks, was killed during an operation in Pakistan.

“On nights like this one, we can say that justice has been done.’’ He emphasized Al Qaeda's distinctions from Islam. "The United States is not and never will be at war with Islam." Here's a transcript of the address.

It wasn't long before some Christians began tweeting about Rob Bell's ideas by wondering whether Osama bin Laden is in hell. Here's a sample of some other Christian pastors, bloggers, tweeters' reactions on Twitter along the themes of celebration/justice:

Derek Webb: don't celebrate death, celebrate justice

Jared Wilson "the LORD had made them rejoice over their enemies." (2 Chron. 20:27). #prooftextingiseasy #theologynotsomuch

Ed Stetzer: Now that bin Laden is gone, can we have our civil liberties back, send home the #TSA and restore the 4th Amendment?

Esther Fleece: What's up with Christians tweeting verses like they are fortune cookies? This is not a simple discussion.

Eugene Cho: May the world be united in pursuing peace. Blessed are the peacemakers.

Jordan Sekulow: Crank this up as you celebrate the termination of bin Laden http://t.co/N7K9X8u

Cameron Strang: I was with the president in the East Room 13 days ago with some Christian leaders. A tad less significant than what happened there tonight.

Caryn Rivadeneira: Proud to be an American. Proud of the US special forces. Glad to see justice served. Not a fan of the cheering crowds.

Abraham Piper: Osama Bin Laden is dead? I want to see the long-form death certificate.

Rachel Held Evans: Trying to keep in mind that how I respond to the death of my enemies says as much about me as it does about my enemies.

Mark Driscoll: The cheering crowds remind us that justice is glorious & comes ultimately through Jesus cross or hell. Justice wins http://ow.ly/4KUXP

Update:
Mark Tooley sent CT the following statement:

"All persons of good will can rejoice that the U.S. military has successfully ended Osama bin Laden's career of terror. Sadly, since 9-11, many church voices have insisted that Christianity mandates pacifism. Hopefully there will be greater appreciation for The Church's historic stance that God ordained the state to punish the wicked."

Justin Taylor: The Government’s Sword as an Instrument of God’s Wrath | “[A governing authority] not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.” —Romans 13:4

CT did a cover story in 2002 on "Islam a religion of peace?"

We should never celebrate the death of another human being. Certainly, feelings of relief are appropriate. However, I would argue that as a Christian we should never have felt anxious or revengeful in the first place. Although his death was of top priority in this war and consequently seen as a victory, Christians should remember that whether or not Osama was of evil nature, God created him. Let us not rejoice in taking the life of God's creation for that is savagry. Nor should we take pride in a nation; our citiizenship is in Heaven.

“I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” - Mark Twain

America wins! FATALITY!

This is a tough place to draw a line...on the one side, a man's life has been taken. On the other hand though, a man who murdered hundreds and led many to follow him in these killings is now no longer a threat- not only to the U.S. but to the world.

I feel at peace with this news; and while I will not cite a memory verse like a "fortune cookie," I will say that I believe God wants us as Christians to take a stand against evil; to support, protect and care for the poor and orphaned. To guard those who are unable to guard themselves. In this act, we have done that. I congratulate the men and women who served this country in bringing that man to justice.

I do however, not agree with the way one newscaster explained the news this evening...He said that vengeance has been served. I do believe that vengeance is the Lord's and that we shouldn't have solely been seeking Osama out in order to enact vengeance. Again, he needed to be stopped, so that his thoughtless genocide did not continue.

Ezk 18:32 No death should ever be celebrated. The fact that these leaders in the American Church are celebrating death is revolting and they deserve a harsh rebuking. Who are we to not love our enemies? We are all enemies of the Lord, yet he loved those who put him up on the cross. Honestly the Word is the most powerful tool in discernment and is not a fortune cookie, contrary to popular belief.

I think the first comment from Teresa is absolutely correct. Osama bin Laden did many evil things and did not know the love of God. Yet, as Christians we can never take delight in anyone's death, but we must mourn that Osama bin Laden never came to a relationship with Jesus Christ. God will now justly judge Osama bin Laden, yet just like with Israel in the Old Testament, God wishes that Osama bin Laden would have turned from his evil ways (Ezek. 33:11). Let us not celebrate, but mourn for a life who never accepted Jesus.

Great minds must think alike, I just posted on my blog on the same topic. I have repented about my initial reaction and have used it to illustrate Jesus' love.

Osama bin Laden chose to reject Jesus Christ while he lived. Instead, he chose terrorism as a way of life. Therefore, he gets exactly what he deserves, i.e. eternal death in hell forever. That is the truth taught in the Bible.

Obama indicates we are not at war with Islam, well somebody better be, the whole WORD Jihad is a Holy war waged against Christians and Jews. Obama is a fool, look what he has done to America since he has been in office, he deserves what bin laden recieved. Obama symphathizes with muslims and he does not deserve to be president of this nation. 6669.org
Wake up America! Repent, the time is at hand. Fo real.

stuxnet: I absolutely do not agree with you. Contrary to what many unenlightened modern Christians may think, some sins ARE bigger than others, and there is scripture that supports this claim which I would be happy to e-mail to you if you'd like.
There are sins that completely destroy the lives of thousands; there are sins far more diabolical than what you've described. Do not say that crooked politicians are just as guilty as Osama. Although God IS the ultimate judge, think of this: God said he who sheds man's blood by man's blood should be shed because man is made in the image of God. Osama Bin Laden is guilty of a crime much, much worse than any other because he destroyed the image of God for an idol. It's not a political issue, it's justice and GOD's justice at that.

2 Kings 9 30-37

I am neither a Christian nor a follower of any belief system that deals with a so-called life after death. I simply find it to be unhealthy for me to rejoice when another human is executed, no matter what they may have done. I guess lots of other people find such rejoicing healthy. To each his/her own.

Thank you for including the hashtags with my quoted tweet. I did not cite 2 Chronicles 20:27 to rejoice in bin Laden's death, but to show the ease of prooftexting to those saying we shouldn't.

I think last night was a great example of the strengths of Twitter -- "scooping" the traditional news media and the President himself with the story -- and the deficiencies of Twitter -- the knee-jerk endzone dance resulting.

Proverbs 24:17, "Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice"

I think obama did a good thing to tell the rest of the world you cant kill innocent people to make a statement ...sometimes you need to stand up to the bullies and bring them to their knees...
after all didn't king david destroy his enemies?

I see the prez still can't speak without his teleprompter. Personally, I don't think Bin Laden is dead. Too many conflicting reports of how he died - shot, burned, bombed, etc. This supposedly occurred a week ago while they waited for DNA results. Why did they bury him at sea? Never heard of that one before. By dumping a body at sea, there is NO ONE who can demand his body be exumed for proof that it truly was him. I think this whole story is fishy, fishy, fishy, and smells like it too. None of this adds up. Just remember that while we are watching one thing, our illustrious, treacherous government is doing something else while we aren't looking. I don't trust a single thing coming out of this man's mouth. Notice that he said America would NEVER be at war against Islam. Get ready people, for sharia law and the beheadings on American soil.

What occurs to me is, just what IS there to rejoice over? What is going to change as a result?

I remember when I was in school, a classmate reacted to the phony "death of Khrushchev" story with "Khrushchev's dead! We're free!" I goggled in incomprehension--- as though this meant the whole Communist bloc would instantly vanish with the death of the current boss?

President Obama is correct. JUSTICE WAS DONE.

Christians should rejoice when justice is done. This was an act of social and public justice. Therefore, Christians should rejoice at the death of Osama bin Laden. And we should rejoice in the fact that President Obama was willing to employ a unilateral, preemptive military strike to kill him. Well done, Mr. President.

You really think bin laden is dead? (Prove it). Fact is you can not prove it. The so called body was dumped at sea. The government again has raised more questions than answers. You think the Presidents birth certificate is real. Prove it. Its a fake just like the President himself. (A fake and a lie). You will know a tree by its fruit. There is no good fruit here. So before you celebrate get the truth. Then and only then will you be set free.

Lets use this opportunity to delight in/tell people about the only persons death worth of delighting in! Jesus!

I don't think we should ever refer to verses of the Holy Bible as "fortune cookies." So disrespectful to our Word.

I don't think we should celebrate death. Here's a short quote from a blog post I just wrote: "I have no doubt that God cried at bin Laden's actions. But I'm sure he cried at bin Laden's death, too."

Oh, so much to comment on.
Mel, great comments.
Pam and you other conspiracy theorists, let it go. You can't live like this. Cynicism will kill you.
Josh and the rest of you, God crying at Bin Laden's death? I think God cries whenever someone rejects Him. God cries because this man is a terrorist. God hates the shedding of innocent blood. Only God could bring justice to this situation and He has.

We rejoice not because someone is dead, but because justice has been accomplished.

Bravo, Teresa.

The actions of every violent fundamentalist religious group are justified by their executors as "madanted by their God." If it's true that God ordained the state to carry out the violence that finally culminated in Osama's death, then those whose hands were in it will be blessed accordingly.

I will, for my part, continue to pray for the souls of those who have lost lives and loved ones throughout this conflict, and maintain humility and reverence for the sacrifices made. I find overt celebration very inappropriate, myself.

Be it God's will or not, the process has been painful and tragic, and this is not the end of it. There will be more loss, and more bloodshed. So I will continue to pray, and hope that the direction in which our country headed is indeed one that pleases God. I will not be throwing and celebratory parties over any "victory" associated with much human suffering and tragedy. My heart hurts to think of doing that.

Commentors like Teresa and Danny show that they have not only read Christ's words but have actually understood them. The same goes for the "professionals" quoted in the article like Esther Fleece, Eugene Cho and Rachael Held Evans. As for many others like stuxnet, Clarence and Jim your words show you walk in darkness not in the Light, as your hearts are filled with hatred and ignorance. The comment by J Sekulow is just what I would have expected from him, someone who also thinks modern day Israel can do no wrong and has no blood on their hands. Not familiar with Mark Tooley, but he seems to have forgotten what Christ said about mercy and those who take up the sword perishing by the sword. There is a reason Jesus is called the Prince of Peace, and the real tragedy is the pro-war stance taken by many churches, not the pro pacificsm stance.Did Christ even once say it was right to kill someone ?

Expect retaliation, so be on high alert.

"You have heard that it was said,'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.

Everything else is a lie. Anyone who says otherwise is a false prophet. Don't think. Don't give any excuses. Don't say "But...". Accept Christ. Don't worship the state. We are to be united in Christ only.

Now repent.

I am thankful that Bin Laden can not hurt anyone else but i am also saddened that He did not repent, (as far as we know) and come to faith in Christ, before he died. I am not rejoicing over his death. I cannot share the glee of my fellow Americans. How can I, when I see how the enemy has blinded the eyes of yet another lost soul, right up to the end? The angels rejoice when one as blind as Bin Laden turns from their wicked ways to follow Christ. I prefer the angel's point of view. I will leave my rejoicing for such a time as this.

Here's my reaction: http://www.revelife.com/746839071/the-death-of-osama-bin-laden-and-the-christian-reaction/

It's not full but I believe it shows how we can react even though we know we all reap what we sow.

As Christians we are called not to conform to the standards of this world but to the kingdom of God. God doesn't rejoice in violence and neither should we. Yes, he was a bad man and was perhaps guilty of thousands of deaths. However,America gave him the money, weapons, and training in the '80s. He gained power because America at one time supported Osama. Now we dance and shout over the death of the man we put into power. Need to remember we should feel sad that this man died in his sin and shouldn't take joy in the death of anyone. We are also guilty of murder recording to Jesus teachings. All of us are murderers, liars, adulterers, and thieves. If we celebrate the death of evil people, we should dance every time anyone dies. All of us are sinners and deserve to be without God.

We are to seek justice, work for justice. When justice has been accomplished, I think it is OK to be pleased and to be thankful to God. You can pick and choose whatever verse you want to defend your opinion. For each verse you pick, I can show you another one that says the opposite. I am not happy at anyone's death, but he had plenty of time to repent or turn himself in (since 1996, I think), but he chose this way to die. He had options relating to his death. Don't be happy about his death, but don't spit on the graves of the people he tortured and killed either. Don't give more value to the life of a mass murder than you do his victims. And for Pete's sake, take the Bible in context!!!

So does this mean Christians can build a big church upon the location where Osama was killed to show that we really want to reach out to the Muslims in peace and love?

And some call themselves Christians

"Welcome to Hell, bin Laden."

That's how former Baptist minister and Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee summed up the news that the world's most wanted man is dead.

"It is unusual to celebrate a death," Huckabee, who still hasn't decided on a 2012 presidential run, said in a statement, continuing, "but today Americans and decent people the world over cheer the news that madman, murderer and terrorist [U]sama Bin Laden is dead."

I amvery disapointed by Huckabee (and I kind of liked the guy). It is one thing to rejoice that justice has been done and that a terrorist will not hurt anyone else. it is another thing to rejoice in someone death and eve worse that someone is in hell. very very disapointing and un-christian

And what would we think, believe, feel, do, say... he was a useful idiot, like most people who perform evil service. It is the "spirit" behind the individual; who has "free will" to choose the evil. Yet the soul and the individual who pays for it in the end. Heaven or Hell...your free will; your choice! EPH 6:12 FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST PRINCIPALITIES, AGAINST POWERS, AGAINST THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD, AGAINST SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES. Therefore Christian or any person that accepts Jesus Christ...what should you do? Put on the Whole Armour of God Eph 6:11-23 Because once you do "Spiritual Warfare" is ON!

Do not resist an evil person
Overcome evil with good
Do not kill
You have heard it said, an eye for an eye, but I say to you, love your enemies, do good to those that hate you...
Put away your sword...
Turn your swords into plowshares...
Vengeance is mine says the Lord...
If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even the pagans/gentiles do the same...

just off the top of my head...

There once was an exceptional country. It exceptional citizens were proud, very proud. They all did what was right in their own eyes and all was well. They were also exceptionally successful - very successful and they had lots of cool gadgets 'n stuff. They were blessed! They has lots of stuff and cool pieces of green paper. Life never better. God certain must have though them exceptional - very exceptional!

To keep that exceptional flow going about a generation ago that exceptional country's citizens began exterminating over 40 million of its unborn so it could keep the cool gadgets, stuff, wads of green paper and drive thrus. No matter - all was well. Nothing reeeally bad happened to those exceptional people. They were victorious and successful - who could ever doubt their exceptionalness ?! God must have been impressed.

Then one day a man with a funny name went a little funny in the head and made a big boom in really really big city. 5 million of its (allegedly) innocent civilians were rendered into a 5 mile wide cloud of vapor in mere seconds. Exceptional people love an exceptional bargain and Justice - Divine Justice - to some had been appeased. Why where else could a pittance of 5 mil not-so innocent souls write off the debt of 40 million? Some said later on that the exceptional country got off exceptionally cheap! Fortunately the funny man with the funny name never made the boom .... there was another force operating in the world the exception folks of the exceptional nation never heard of. Oh they constantly preached Justice but alas forgot His other name..

Mercy.

Spell check next time

Thus endeth the "lession" (oh snap!)

Statement released to The Moral Nation members this morning...

As always, our hearts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in our volunteer military, who do an exceptional job for America.

In regards to the reported death of Bin Laden, I can only express certain thoughts in complete honesty. We live in an environment where our opinions are formulated based on reported facts from "others." The beauty of Jesus Christ and his testimony to others was the fact he stated, "We testify as to what we have actually seen and what we know to be true." If you were not present at these events, how can you actually testify to their authenticity? Truth be known, you cannot. You merely testify to others using hearsay and judge accordingly.

As a veteran in law enforcement, hearsay is worthless without factual evidence. Reporting what a person states can be admissible as a testimony, but no competent judge would ever pass judgment simply based on hearsay (gossip or rumor). Even though hearsay might even be the truth, we do not have the ability to search the hearts and minds of others to present it as factual truth. Remember - in the same manner you judge others, you will be judged accordingly. If you are making judgments and formulating opinions based on hearsay, would you want someone convicting you on the possible rumors and gossip of others. You want a fair trial if charged based on tangible and factual evidence.

The sad part about Bin Laden is even having to question whether or not this is truthful, so this brings to light the confidence and trust issue I have about our current American government. I personally feel that I have been lied to repeatedly throughout the years to the point I am dismissive of anything our political leaders tell us.

Therefore, if I am to seek truth, I can only search out who is the truth. Jesus Christ - the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). I have to pray about everything and seek the gift of spiritual discernment. God has made such a difference in my life and opened my spiritual eyes, I can truly testify based on fact that "Holy" spiritual discernment WILL always lead you to the truth.

What does your spiritual discernment - that inner voice of God - the truth, tell you about this report?

Finally, I understand American's reacting with joy that Bin Laden was laid to rest but we are not savages that rejoice over spilled blood of anyone. I will never forget the savages dancing in the streets as the World Trade Center's fell. America is great because America is set apart to not act as savages. America has always been a Christian Nation that humbly bows to God in prayer when such actions occur. American's do not celebrate spilled blood - Evil celebrates spilled blood by dancing in the streets!

Stephen Mitchell

The sourge of the west has finally met justice as we (and bin Laden) knew he would eventually. But remember this. We have merely cut off the head of a snake, but the snake has formed into a medusa, having many heads and all of them bent on vengeance. Bin Laden's death is a great victory, to be sure; but we musn't let down our guard. We must if anything be more vigilant because our enemies will be even more set on revenge than ever before.

I can't speak for others but I, for one, will rejoice whenever the United States government operates in accord with its Divine Mandate to wield the sword. Romans 13:4 tells us what God expects of civil government. "But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it (government) does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil."

A trial for Osama Bin Laden? Did John Dillinger have a trial? No. Why? He wouldn't surrender and he couldn't be allowed to continue his crimes. Let's get real. We don't have to rejoice in Bin Laden's death, but we should rejoice that we are a bit safer today as a result of it.

Osama Bin Laden will go directly to Hell, not because he was a terrorist leader, because he died without Christ. How sad it will be when those who died for the sake of Americas freedom, without Christ , will welcome him in.

The way God doles out vengence is through the governing authorities(Romans 13:3-4). It is unfortunate that death has entered the world through sin, but I believe the approach of Psalm 18:37-39 is appropriate 37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them, and did not turn back till they were consumed. 38 I thrust them through, so that they were not able to rise; they fell under my feet.39 For you equipped me with strength for the battle; you made those who rise against me sink under me.

Bin Laden deserved his judgment. He had ample time to repent. He was hardened in his sin, and therefore he deserves the judgment that awaits him which will be far more severe than a bullet in the head.

For [government] is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
(Rom 13:4, NIV)
When God says "Vengence is mine" He can choose it to do Himself, but also He delegates it to government. It shouldn't be done by individuals.
The death penalty, whether by legal judgement or special forces, is not non-Christian. People who claim to be Christian and oppose the death penalty should get right with God.

Do people really believe we're safer now? Really?

Remember to quote Romans 13:4 the next time some evil government (they far outnumber the good governments)decide to execute innocent Christians.I am sad when anyone is in hell instead of heaven.

I don't believe the purposeful murder of OBL will accomplish much other than a misguided and temporary happiness for the world. It will not erase the 9/11 event, it will not bring back those that died on 9/11, it will not bring peace to the families of the ones lost on 9/11 and, like in the past, men will always seek ways to kill other men, for many reasons. I think as a nation for us to be happy dancing, celebrating, cheering on what the President ordered and what the seals did is a sad statement of our hearts. Yes Bin Laden DID evil things, he killed people for his own selfish reasons, but as Christians we are reminded what God said in His Word, you shall not kill/murder, and vengeance is Mine saith the Lord (Rom 12:19). I truly feel for the man who pulled the trigger, twice. Killing never solves anything and it won't this time. I feel very sad today that there is so much jubilation for the dead of another human being. This world is so messed up and twisted from where God really wants us to be. I cannot even imagine that God is pleased with what mankind did today.

".... but we should rejoice that we are a bit safer today as a result of it."

Do you really think we are safer?? Do you think that Homeland Security is no longer needed now that OBL is dead? We are not safe, really, until Christ comes again.

I don't think you speak for everyone when you say it will not help bring peace to the survivors of 9/11. If so, I guess you are a mind reader. With all these comments, why do we go to war at all, why is Obama fighting now also in Libya, etc? Why not bring home all soldiers, and while we're at it, release from prison all the prisoners we have in the US? You all think that bringing some justice is a total waste, so let's stop it all now, and forget having a military, and forget about having prisoners. Then we can all sit happily in our homes knowing we're doing what you think is right. I wonder if the disciples forgot to record Jesus on the cross saying that the government had no right to punish the thieves on the other crosses?

Our most professional military gave bin Laden a chance to surrender to them for what he has done in the past. He made his choice by pulling his weapon on them. They responded in the only way left for them by killing him. He made the choice, not us. While I can't help but think that bin Laden must be most surprised to find that he is not in Heaven with 70 virgins or whatever he's taught his followers to expect, ultimately it is for God to judge him, not us. For us, I think the appropriate feeling is some relief that bin Laden will never kill or order the killing of another person - although most certainly his evil followers will try to. But they've been doing that anyway, even when bin Laden was alive.

In the eyes of the Lord, we are all the same, His children, born into sin. I don't know what I would do, if the world was weighing in on my past sinfulness. Perhaps this is why Scripture tells us not to judge and condemn but to restore with truth and grace (Matthew 7:1-6).

Rather than rejoicing in the murder of Osama bin Laden, this Christian is humbly praying for the military servicemen who were ordered to take his life.

"He can choose it to do Himself, but also He delegates it to government. It shouldn't be done by individuals."
----------------------------------------------------
That is not what the scripture says or even infers.

Not done by individuals, but by government?? What? Government IS MADE UP OF individuals. It is made up of sinful men, not some sort of special people different from everyone else. If the present day government was "of" God, there would be a lot of very different things going on in government. Can you say no government funding of abortion. no same sex marriage, etc.

Please reconcile man's death penalty with the the commandment that God gave, Thou shall not kill?????
Not kill means not kill, not take a life, it can't be interpreted any other way.

@donna young it does not say thou shall not kill, it says thou shall not commit murder, there is a big difference and scripture is clear on that, there are times when killing in times of war has been acceptable because it was the only alternative, murder is totally different

On the other hand, as I have pointed out today on my own blog, Proverbs 24:17-18 point to the fact that we as Christians should not rejoice in the pain of our enemies and Ezekiel 33:11 says that God does not rejoice at the death of a wicked person, he would rather they repent and not die in their sins.

sorry, that @ reply was to Julie not Donna, had my lines crossed when reading... point is still valid either way :)

While I'm glad that chapter is over, I'm concerned that the retaliation may be costly.

More, I'm sad that some people's lives never come into contact with the risen Savior. It came to my mind a long time ago that Saul of Tarsus was essentially a terrorist before the Damascus Road. "No one is good enough to save themselves" but no one is so wicked that God cannot completely change their course in life.

I'm just sad about the whole lie that Islam sells to people, whether in the name of peace or in the name of war.

How should Christians feel about the death of someone like bin Laden? Someone who was deceived from childhood by a lie? Someone who never knew a moment of real peace in his life? Christians should feel pity.

Many great comments here. But I think the one that matters most is that we as Christians should keep our minds and thoughts concentrated on Jesus Christ and His return and not so much the things of this world. It can be easy to get caught up in what’s happening here and lose focus on what really matters. I don't mean to down grade the significance that Osama's death has on world events but mean to encourage my brothers and sisters to find comfort that God is still in control.

Andrew wrote: "Osama bin Laden chose to reject Jesus Christ while he lived. Instead, he chose terrorism as a way of life. Therefore, he gets exactly what he deserves, i.e. eternal death in hell forever."

With the exception of the second sentence, you've just described Gandhi. Thus, Gandhi deserves death in hell forever, right?

It's not quite so easy when you can't paint all non-Christians as terrorists, is it?

This is the message you heard from the beginning; We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. Do not be suprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in HIM. 1 John 11-15, OBL was a modern day Cain...who is to say it wasn't God's will for OBL to die...But who are we to gloat in his death if we are Christians? Where are we as a God-fearing nation? According to the live broadcasts on my TV, acting like a bunch of drunken pagans. We must reclaim our nation for God and harvest souls for heaven...Time to get rid of secular America and focus on the real issues at hand...do not delight in losing souls to Hell...we are failing as a Christian nation....

Actually, it's just as easy as when it is Ghandi, because I trust God and His Holiness and sovereignty. I don't second-guess God and His judgments, and have no right to. Read Romans 9. God is the potter, and we are the clay. Some clay is for ordinary use and some is for noble use. It is up to the potter, not us. Nobody deserves to go to heaven, but God has said that those who believe will be saved, and I believe Him. Period.

I was blessed and gifted with a kind soul. I wear my heart on my sleeve. If anyone knows me personally they would know that I have never met a stranger and if asked, would give a ride to anyone, and I have been like that from birth! I have forgiven robber's that have held me at gunpoint and made friends with them. Being a waitress/nurse/reflexologist I have met many different types of people. If I had an enemy, they became my friend. I had the honor of knowing a few men who, unfortunately, were raised to hate and would have done the same thing that Osama did in the name of "their" God whom they worshipped. I say honor because I got to know them, found out what really made them the way they were. I learned to be thankful for being raised to worship and honor God and to be thankful that Jesus Christ died and paid the price for my sins. These men never had that opportunity. They learned a lot about me too. They all died horrible deaths which they thought was an honor. I will never celebrate the death of another human being. Certainly, feelings of relief are appropriate. I AM, however, grateful for all the men and women who fought for my freedom and have served and protected our country, even before my birth. It's just not in my nature to hate, but I DO HATE WAR! So my prayers will be for God to continue to protect us and our country and I'll continue to give thanks for every time he did it without my knowledge. I will ask that comfort be given to those who lost loved one's on 911 and during this war. Let there be peace on earth and I KNOW that someday we will have this.. Forgiveness brings healing, it is a decision which each one must make, to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. It is what Jesus does! I love mankind! God Bless Us ALL! Thanks for letting me share my feelings! Hugs

So you think they would announce he was dead, if there was a chance that he might 'pop up' on a new video next week? Duh!
If only some of you so called patriots would have the faith to believe in a President, elected by the people, then your country might just start to turn the corner back to, it's once held, greatness.

Faith in mankind Mark? I don't think so my friend!

Then doesn't that defeat the purpose of your radio show....if you have no faith in the government which reflects the people it governs, then there is no hope for change, making your crusade pointless. You HAVE to have faith (and hope too)if you can turn around both your country and the condition of it's spirit.

I must say one thing that absolutely amazes me no end and that is your American propaganda machine has worked dark miracles ! No one even questions Bin Ladens guilt or more than likely complete innocence in this huge sophisticated crime ! America, surely the most deceived and deluded people on earth ever !

Wow! To think that JcMcain once said that he would follow Bin Laden to the gates of hell.

Now JcMc, SP, MH, DT, MB, COD, et al.

You all need to repent and really, really believe in JesusChrist as the Son of God.

Otherwise you'll certainly follow him, not just to the gates but all the way inside!

But not as deluded as you it seems Roberto! Do you think he would have denounced his involvement in some of those video tapes if he wasn't responsible...Am I the only voice of reason with no hidden agenda here.
It happened...he was behind it...now he's paid for it. Still no reason to celebrate his death. Celebrate the end of his era, try to find closure for those events 10 years ago, rejoice that his spectre has been removed from the horizon...but on no account celebrate his actual death or you become the same as they are in the eyes of God.

To ease your fears Roberto, Palestinians around the US rejoiced that Bin Laden was killed. They interviewed several on television last night and they said that he was responsible for many thousands of innocent civilians who were Palestinian, as well. One restaurant owner was giving everyone free desserts in celebration for killing a man who was responsible for the deaths of many thousands of people. I suppose all of these pacifists on here would have let Hitler go free as well. God had the death penalty in the Old Testament for murderers, which is different than killing in God's eyes. Maybe some can't see the difference, but God does and so so most people. There is a difference in the murdering of innocent people vs killing the perpetrator of these deaths. Bin Laden was his same wonderful self to the end, trying to cover himself with women's bodies so he wouldn't be hit.

Dear Mark, If you believe ANY of those fake Bin Laden tapes well then I rest my case !

Romans 12:17-21 is another passage to consider. So often Christians talk about the Romans 13 passage to justify what the US is doing, I wonder if they would be doing it in the context of an oppressive authoritarian state. Paul wrote letters as a law-breaker from prison while he also spoke about submitting to authorities. In a democracy, who is the authority? The elected officials and courts or ultimately the electorate?

It is not our duty to praise earthly powers that come and go, but to glorify God the Crator and Christ the Savior, who died for us on the cross. The secular nation that our government has created can simply not coexist with Christianity. Our government will not allow our children to pray in schools, recite the pledge of allegiance, supports abortion, bans the 10 commandments, etc...the list goes on...the leader of our nation does not proclaim Christianity...as American Christians, should we be patriotic? In my grandparent's era, this WAS a great nation...the time is coming soon where we will be martyred in our own country for expessing our Christianity...We cannot afford to keep hating...yes, in the OLD TESTAMENT God waged war and persecuted "eye for an eye"...let's fast-forward to the NEW TESTAMENT in which Jesus was crucified for all of mankind's sin and stated that we are to LOVE our enemies (even the government) and PRAY for those who persecute you...I failed to find any scriptures that justified retaliation. Christ himself could have escaped the cross by calling twelve legions of angels to rescue him and retaliate...but thank God he didn't....Let's put CHRIST back into CHRISTIANITY!

**Creator** Excuse typos...

I can't figure out why our guys would drag a dead man out of a house to a ship, package him and put him in the sea so the world including his followers can say he's still alive. DNA "proof" done by the government killing him is no proof. I'm pretty sure the CIA is quite good at faking legal papers. Why didn't those in charge bring back the body so journalists could prove the body was him. Even pictures can be faked and a bldg. with blood on the floor and bullets in the wall is no prove a person died there. As for disturbing the following of a mass murderer, maybe this might show them what happens to followers of a mass murder. They need to get it that their murdering for their religion is wrong. So far, all we do is appease them out of fear of disturbing these killers as if they need an excuse. They see a girl in white socks and that's excuse enough to murder. Our stupid gov't has to prove the murderer is dead, dumping him in the water is not proof, nor a picture nor DNA, all can be fake, a body is proof.

To all of humanity. Osama's death is not a victory against evil. If you think about it logically you can not fight evil with evil. You see for all who cheer you have become just like Osama. And you do not have the wisdom to question what is going on. Why did we not capture him 10 years ago. Why when are country is falling apart, 10 years later and out of the blue Osama is captured and killed, something is not right with that picture. Americans have become so arogant in there way of life, we believe we are the police of the world, yet we can not even fix what is happening in our own country. What ever happened to humanity. I hate to be the one to give you the bad news but the only evil we should be fighting is our Government, are freedom is being taken at an alarming rate. The rich get richer and the poor pay more tax. Look at all of our homeless, there are children on the street. Morals are all but non-exsistant, and are country is run not by government, but by big corporations. Our dollar is becoming worthless around the world. Do not get me wrong I morn for all who died during 9/11, But I am not sure the right people are being held accountable. I think we should be holding our government accountable, until they give us some true answers. Open your eyes people. Not everything your told is the truth. We need to bann together and save our country before it is to late, and we better do it quick, who knows how long we will be able to afford gas for our cars. Another great example of how are government and the big corporations are robbing the American people. And making a huge profit doing so. Are way of life is under attack people, not by terrorist, but by our own government.

I read a few of the christian post above. I have to say alot of them make me sick. It is this type of ignorance in our country that is destroying our way of life. You people want to condem anyone who does not share your believe. This is way I am glad to be an athiest, someone who still believes in humanity, and does not use the bible or a make belive Jesus or God to justify there ignorance and Inhumane way of life. You seem to think this is about christianity vs Islam, and you are absolutly wrong. What makes your religion any better than any other. Let me explane so that some of you simple people will understand, if you were born in Islam that is what you would believe, just like because someone feed your head with christianity that is what you believe. So quite thinking you are better than others, because you are not. Your believe is no better than there's. Get off your high horse, and stop being so ignorant.

Anna, my dear, whether or not bin Laden is dead really isn't an issue the government is concerned about proving...along with Obama's birth certificate and health care reform. But in regards to your comments on Bin Laden's followers, you need to realize that these people have lived in a land ruled by the false teachings of Islam for centuries and know no better. They have been lied to and wrongly influenced and need healing...they commit murder in the name of Allah, but so has our country killed thousands in warfare for "causes" less than religion. God has not called us to hate evil-doers, but to pray for them and bring them into his Kingdom in the name of Christ. And that should truly be our prayers for the Muslim people...it is not our place as humans or a country to "teach" anyone anything...it is God's place to heal us all!

Jason,my dear...you didn't have to visit this website. You chose to. No one here is on a high horse...and Christianity is not "in your head"...it is in your heart and spirit. No Christian is perfect...the only perfect soul that ever walked this earth died on a cross for man's sin....Would you fight and die for your Atheist beliefs?

I have never wished for death upon one person, that is until September 11, 2001.Thousands of innocent lives were taken by the works of Osama Bin Laden. Thousands and thousands of people lost those who were truly precious to them, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, friends, nieces, nephews, boyfriends, girlfriends, fiances, etc. Osama choose his path when he choose to be a terrorist, when he choose to put his beliefs above all, and when he choose to kill. What if you lost someone you loved in the events of 9/11 (or maybe you did)? How do you think you would feel at that time when you found out that the master mind of these events were drawn out by an evil man who cared nothing about the innocent lives of us Americans or anyone else for that matter? People like Osama do NOT deserve to live. God did create him, but God also gave each and every human being free will; the power to make our own decisions. Osama choose to live his life as a murderer. Therefore, I believe we DO have the right to be ecstatic that Osama Bin Laden is dead. I would never wish death upon someone who did have a caring soul, but this man had not one loving, caring bone in his body,he was filled with nothing but pure evil. Do you truly believe in your heart that you're not happy he is dead? I believe in a situation like this one, it is perfectly acceptable for anyone to be happy he is dead. Thank you to The U.S Special Forces for their bravery and thank God for protecting these men/and or women during this very important mission.
God bless America

I would just like to add something to my last post. As for those who are critisizing the Chritian beliefs, that is very disrespectful. Given, there are some Christians who choose not to think outside of the box. I for one am a Christian who thinks outside of the box. What I mean by this is, when one reads a scripture of the bible they just take it for what is says, sometimes they don't really take the time to go into depth about what that scripture may actually mean. It is of human nature to be happy when someone who has killed someone you loved or one of your people. God doesn't necessarily want you to make a party out of it, but I also don't think that he expects you to not be happy about it. Jesus died on the cross 2,000 years ago so that his children's sins can be forgiven. No matter how hard you cheer, how happy you are, or how much you celebrate the death of Osama, God will forgive your sins for it. However, the only way for your sins to be forgiven and for you to be able to live in Heaven with Jesus for all eternity, you much accept Jesus Christ, our saviour, into your heart. You must try to live your life as Jesus would want you to live it. Osama choose not to be a Christian, he choose the path to hell and that is where he belongs, therefore his sins cannot be forgiven. Jesus knows that people would be ecstatic about Osama's death...he knew that. But, what we all should keep in mind that Jesus loves us and can forgive you whether or not you decided to be happy about it. I am happy Osama is dead, I also know that it is my natural reaction to be happy about this and Jesus will forgive me for it. All of the non-Christians may think that our beliefs are messed up and inaccurate, but what you must know is that you are more than wrong. You do not have the right to say that our religion is not any better than the Islamic religion. Look around you, the TRUE Christians are not going around murdering thousands and thousands of innocent people, we aren't throwing parties each time we hear about the killings happening to the lives of the innocent men, women, and childeren in Afganistan, iraq, etc. People like Osama (who follows the Islamic religion) are the complete opposite. So obviously our beliefs as Christians are 100% better than the Islamic religion. Christians do not hate those who are not Christians, we just HOPE that one day you will listen to what God has in store for you and you will hopefully accept him into your heart and your life. I am happy to be a Christian and I love God, I just wish everyone else could see how loving and caring he truly is. I think that there are many people out there that don't quite understand why God would allow certain events such as 9/11 to happen, and that could be one possible reason why some choose not to be a Christian. What you have to realize is that (like I stated in my previous post) God have humans the power to make decisions for ourselves, there isn't some sort of chip in our heads telling us what to do, God chooses not to make our decisions for ourselves, HE HAS GIVEN US FREE WILL! This also means that we all have the right to choose our own path. I for one am very glad that I CHOOSE to be a Christian, therefore I know that I will be with God for all eternity. So once again, please don't be disrespectful towards the Christian beliefs and PLEASE don't try and say that our beliefs are not above the Islamic religion, that goes beyond the lines of being disrespectful.
God Bless

It seems a great pity that so few respondents here who claim to be Christian are appalled at the decision to assassinate bin Laden without a trial. Where were the tasers, stun guns and tear gas to effect his capture? Why not give the man a fair trial as demanded by human rights charters in every civilised country?
By refusing this option, the US has embraced the same values and adopted the same strategy as Al Qaeda. The same people who rejoiced at the toppling of the twin towers in 2001 are rejoicing again this week. So sad.

First off, responses to my post did not make any sense. I was not being disrespectful to Christian views, I was giving facts not fiction. You honestly can not tell me where you live in the world does not determine your belive system. There are many religions in this world, and because they do not share your belive, you are saying they are all evil and going to hell. Which is absurd, you can not blame a child born to a certian religion for not knowing christianity. And you can not tell me you are any better than them. Have you read your Bible, or studied history, more people have been killed by the Christian religion than any other religion in the world. Your ignorance is why. You blame a believe rather than an individual. Let me remind you Osama supposedly was the mastermind behind 9/11 not Islam. Yes some celibrated in there country when 9/11 happened. But you act like it is wrong for them, but right for you because you are better than them. Believing in Jesus or God does not give you the right to say those who don't are all evil. Actually those who don't might be 100% better people than some who do. I used to be Christian because like you I grew up in America where it is our belive system. But after studing history, and seeing the evil that has been done in the name of God, I decided it was not for me. I have that right, just like you have the right to believe, that does not make me evil. I like you morn over 9/11, I morn for our country and the people, but I do not believe we were told the truth about 9/11. Just like you r religion is based on faith, you are putting faith in your government that thay are not lieing to you about what really happened on 9/11. Did you know Osama never said he was the one who was responsible for 9/11. Probably not, you live in blind faith, which is why our country has fallen apart in the first place. My comments where not all about religion, most where about us needing to come together and save our country. But instead all you saw where my comments about Christianity, We I read God would want us to cheer, that is a cop out, bad people need an excuse for there horrible nature. God is no excusse for you to be so cruel.

Hi Jason,
Yes you are statistically correct to state that place and religion of birth determines religion of choice. But you must understand that Evangelical Christians genuinely believe ours is the one true faith given to us by God as an act of His grace. You will not shift us on this. Christians have differing views, however, on whether or not other believers will go to hell. The mainstream Evangelical view has been that, yes, they will, but not all agree.
No, it is not true to say more people have been killed by the Christian religion than any other belief system in the world. In recent decades, Stalin’s Russia and Communist China have been the worst theatres of death. And even where Christians have been involved in catastrophic wars, such as World War II, it was not specifically Christian theology that led to the killings. Again, Christians have differing views on just wars. Personally, I believe Jesus teaches pacifism.
You are pretty much right about Osama bin Laden. Many Christians share your dismay at the demonising of this man far beyond what his evil words and deeds require. And, yes, our governments lie to us continually. This is why it is so fantastic we now have WikiLeaks to expose the routine misinformation our governments issue.
The truth of what actually happened in the illegal assassination of OBL last weekend will eventually become known. Already the original reports are being exposed as wrong. The truth about who planned 9/11 and who knew what in the US Government is difficult to establish, and may be embarrassing to many in power at that time. Perhaps this is why the US President chose to have OBL murdered instead of arrested and put on trial.

Carey. I would like to thank you for you response, it was very intellagant and well put. I may not share your veiw on Christianity, but I appreciate your input and views. Thank you agian for your intellagant input, I agree totally with your last response to why Osama might of been murdered instead of put on trail. This is why we as Americans need to come together and change what is happening in our country. We need to seek the truth and hold our Government accountable. That is the only way to preserve our way of life.

I am a believer and a follower of Jesus Christ, as I watched on face book and heard comments from my fellow believers I was really suprisedto see that most of them rejoiced in this. I find it sad that we seem to sometimes try to be Jesus our selves. Jesus plainly tells us how to be a child of His. One of His commands is in 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Luke 6:28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.
Luke 6:27-36

[27] "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [29] If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as you would have them do to you.

[32] "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. [33] And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. [34] And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. [35] But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. [36] Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. For one did he have a fair trial and two do we really know that this was him behind this and not our own goverment. They only tell us what we want to hear. Anyone with some common since knows it already sounds to fishy. So children of the Living God repent..

I am appalled at the liberals "concern" for these horrible war criminals, responsible for thousands of innocent victims deaths. Palestinians interviewed in Seattle were rejoicing that this man was finally killed, he was responsible for thousands of innocent Palestinians deaths as well. Where is your outrage when innocent victims are killed? Where is your outrage when women are shot and killed for having an ankle show while bicycling (story told in Time magazine). I really have yet to hear outrage by liberals or women's groups at how women are treated by the moslims. If women make a complaint about rape, they are likely to be imprisoned and killed themselves, and the men who did this to them have nothing done to them. In many of these countries, like Iran, women once were told to dress like Europeans if they wished to, women were educated, and were professionals like physicians. But no, nobody is appalled at how women are treated worse than dogs in these countries. Did anyone watch the 60 Minutes interview where the 60 Minutes reporter was raped terribly in Egypt by a mob that had been celebrating the loss of their leader? They were trying to tear her scalp off, they were trying to tear her limbs off, and they all raped her with their hands as well as the usual way. But there is just silence from everyone about atrocities like this. There is only a "heart" for the perpetrators of these disgusting actions. She came close to dying, but nobody here cares. Perhaps some of you should read a book like "Because They Hate" and maybe learn how people are treated by some of these people who act almost demonically. Thousands and thousands of people live in fear every day for their lives and you cry your hearts out for these evil criminals.

I think that Osama Bin Laden should have been taken alive and then questioned and hanged till death as a deterrence to the so called 'jihad' he propogated and which has caused the lives of thousands of innocent men, women and children. In fact the muslims should have done this and elliminated him and his breed, so that this world is a better and peaceful place to live in. Jesus is in control.Others with Osama's ideology will face the same fate and possibly worse. Justice has been done even though the slimy snake hid himself in a 'hole' for far too long.

I have never cheered a death and won't now. I do not believe justice was done. The president says the world is safer now...please tell that to the woman being raped; the man being murdered; the child being sexually abused and so on at this very moment. bin Laden was but one man, he was not powerful enough to threaten the world, that is left up to greedy governments who turn away from Christ.

Barbara, there are many forums in which liberals and others can express dismay at the evils of life in Muslim countries, including the appalling treatment of women. Just as there will be opportunities elsewhere to oppose the denigration of women in advertising and magazines in the West. But the topic of this thread is our response to the killing of one particular man and his companions.
It is perfectly legitimate to be dismayed at this assassination without trial, as many have expressed on this page. Just think what is likely to happen now. It is probable a hit squad with authorisation from another national government will arrive in the US under some guise and kill without trial high ranking Americans. We fervently pray that this doesn’t happen, but it is now likely. If this does happen then we can be outraged and angry and sorrowful. But we cannot now claim it to be morally wrong, can we?
So this is an important issue for Christians and others concerned with matters of good and evil, to grapple with. The complexities go far beyond merely pointing to evils in other countries as though that absolves us of blame.
For many Christians it is completely immoral for any government to authorise an assassination without trial, no matter what the provocation. No country is above the rule of international law.
I agree with you that bin Laden was a horrible war criminal. But can you understand why most people in the world see him as being one of many, and one who has inflicted far less harm than many others we could name?
But as Christians, we pray for them all, that they will repent of their killings, and we pray they will find salvation through Christ before it is too late.

Proverbs 24:17 is a verse that get's abused in a situation like this. For one thing not every enemy or rather "someone who is in opposition to me" is evil. Osama bin laden is evil and wicked and very dangerous. There is a clear difference between your everyday sinner like you and I and someone like him. In fact Osama by definition is a reprobate! The love in me that is Christ Jesus wishes it weren't so but the reality is that there are some people that are hopeless. For those that are celebrating in New York. Don't be shamed by these self righteous. You were oppressed and victimized by pure evil. Rejoice in this victory. But do so in humility and grace. Unfortunately political correctness has infiltrated Christianity. Jesus healed the ear of the soldier but I would argue that the soldier was a good man and was only following orders to arrest Jesus and essentially was part of God's plan anyways to lead the cross. What if the soldier was an evil person who wanted to kill Jesus. Do you think God would not have struck him dead INSTANTLY?

"It seems a great pity that so few respondents here who claim to be Christian are appalled at the decision to assassinate bin Laden without a trial. Where were the tasers, stun guns and tear gas to effect his capture?"

He was an enemy of war, and as such, he was fair game to be shot by AMERICA'S FINEST, our brave men and women in the United States Armed Forces!

"He was an enemy of war, and as such, he was fair game to be shot by AMERICA'S FINEST ..."
This raises several issues from a Christian perspective.
Firstly, which war, between which forces?
Secondly, if it is a genuine declared war, do the Geneva conventions apply?
Thirdly, if bin Laden was a casualty of war then were his victims in 2001 also casualties of war? Or was that attack then morally wrong?
Fourthly, if this is a declared war, will we accept the retaliations on American soil as acts of war and therefore morally justifiable? Or are acts of war only evil when committed by the other side?
Fifthly, if this is a declared war, what efforts should be made to secure a cease-fire and an end of hostilities?
So it becomes fairly tricky. And it does make the world a much more dangerous place for everyone.

To answer all the idiotic questions. This man was an active threat to the saftey and life of everyone in the US & UK. We knew who he was. He wore civilian garb. Therefore he was considered the lowest type of slime.Spy's are shot because of the "deciet" part. In war, the participants clearly identify themselves, so they are identified as other than civilians.

To fight an enemy who hides amongst the civilian population, is the most henious act. It endangers the enemy and the civilian population, but mostly us because we don't know who the enemy is. If the enemy's uniform is civilian clothing, it's the enemy that has put his own people at risk to being shot because anyone in civilian clothing is(posibley) the enemy.

This is a war of exterminiation! According to the Koran, us/non-belivers/kaffirs/infidels "though they don't have to do anything aggressive towards Moslems, their mere existence is a sufficient insult to Allah to justify their extermination"(Trencherborne), and a reason to JIHAD UNTIL ALL INFIDELS HAVE EITHER BEEN;
1.CONVERTED
2.SUBJUGATED
3.EXTERMINATED
"SEEK OUT THE NON-BELIEVERS WHERE EVER YOU FIND THEM, AND KILL THEM." This was straight from the koran.

Being a born again christian I am appalled at what Obama did. Taking him into custody and letting him die in custody would have been far more justice. Not only has the US made themselves look like a killer in the eyes of other countries, we have opened the door for potentially terrorist acts against the US in retaliation. God said in the 6th commandment, Thou Shalt not kill. If one looks up the Greek, it also means, murder, which is EXACTLY what the US did. I find it interesting that what Osama Bin Laden did is called murder and evil and what the US did is called justice. Something is wrong with defining justice with the outright murder of a human being. Justice for who, the dead on 9/11. The only way the survivors can move forward is thru forgiveness, then healing will truly begin. The US is so far from being a christian nation that I fear it will not be able to return to its founding roots. I give Obama no credit for doing what he did withstanding the decision NOT to bomb the compound, and even so, other people were killed, now how was that justice?

And what about the thousands of Iragi woman and children who were killed by indiscriminate American bombings during the war. I guess that's OK as long as their not AMERICANS!

The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of anyone, even the wicked. Instead, He would prefer that they live and turn from their evil ways (Ezekiel 18:32; 33:11). Remember, before the Apostle Paul was a follower of and witness for Christ, He was a terrorist bent on murdering Christians and destroying the church (Acts 7:57-8:3). Nevertheless, it is also true that governing authorities are God’s servant bringing God’s wrath on those who do wrong or practice evil (Romans 13:1-5). When God allows our enemies to fall it is appropriate for us to worship and praise Him for answering our prayer and bringing us closer to peace (2 Chronicles 20:27-30).

God's wrath has fallen on bin Laden through the actions of the U. S. government and its special forces. It is appropriate for us to praise God for eliminating this threat to our peace.

Matt 5:44-45
But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.
NIV
I wonder what our world would be like if we really did what Christ told us to?

What would Jesus have done to Osama....Makes you think doesn't it. Would he be celebrating as some are now doing?

As Jesus tells us in the Bible, he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. That is the best description for bin Laden's death that I can tell.

I want to make this loud and clear. Jesus came to earth for one purpose...to die on the cross, period. He was not a policy maker so it is not necessarily good to throw the Jesus card at everything done by our military. God calls us as representatives to stand up for justice and righteousness in the world, no matter what, regardless of what career you pursue to do that: whether it means being a missionary or a Navy Seal. God leaves it to us as human beings to stand up in this world, no matter the cost. Our God is a god of three things with regards to standing up for whats right: justice, righteousness, and compassion. Do I feel sorry that Osama is probably not going to heaven...yes. Do I regret that justice was served and he paid for his crimes...NO.

Some guys misused my email account and addresses for mails concerned this bad guy(Osama bin Laden) ....after researching and studying on this bad guy ( binladen)on websites and now I have a question in my mind ..." Was really he was a Muslim ??? " because he killed thousands of innocent lives including muslims
and on his death his own relatives, refused to take his deadbody, means they are also don't like him, and moreover finally his deadbody couldn't get an Islamic style burial.
Binladen actions says " He was non-muslim " but Non muslim says ..."he was a muslim" God knows better who was he ???
But now I knew one thing that he was a bad guy who killed thousands of innocent lives....and world saw finally he got his result, which confirmed that he was a bad guy and thats it.....

According to famous proverb " As you sow, so shall you reap." finally , he got his result, because Justice has ever victory, and now we should celebrate the justice

ray for Your Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ:
The Apostle Paul gives us two prayer examples of what to pray for regarding the Body of Christ in Ephesians 1:15-23 and 3:14-21. Pray these prayers for your Church Leaders, your Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and for yourself.
God promised Abraham He will bless those who blessed him and curse those who curse him. This promise was not only for Abraham, but for all of his covenant descendants - the Jewish people. Pray that our leaders will make the correct decisions to make our country a blessing to Israel. Also, Christians need to pray that the nation of Israel will recognize the Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah and Savior, that they will have peace and success, and that they will possesses the land that God has promised them. (Genesis 12:2-3, 15:18-21, 17:8, 17:21, 22:15-18, Deuteronomy 30:2-5)

Like the prophet Samuel said to Agag the Amelekite king just before he hacked him to pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.....'As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women.' Bin Laden's war has shed the blood of those who have never provoked him. Including women and children. Like Jesus says if you as much as hurt these little ones, it is better for you that a mill stone was tied around your neck and you were drowned. Adios bearded one. He who takes a man's life by man his life will be taken.
